Errrr, the "lack of reliabilty"?...

The OS tubes in my amp date from the 50's and 60's and still measure (and very much SOUND) strong.

While those same tubes were pulling duty in other amps for other listeners, I was (1) in diapers then (2) beginning the long process of buying, repairing and eventually throwing out an industrial dumpster's worth of made-to-fade transistor gear.

Don't get me wrong, I still own and enjoy a soild state system, as well. It's just that my experience does not leave me very optimistic about its reliability.

And I can only hope I'm as fit (not to mention as good looking) at that age as those tubes are.
