Sorry about that, I'm still a bit new to posting so I forget some of the relevant info.I figured if I got the correct info, it'd be easier just to tell him what I found and correct him politely. I'd rather not pry into his sources, he tells me a LOT about the industry that I'd not expect from ANY salesman and I don't want to put a damper on that. It's nice knowing when Sheffield stops making records (this last friday btw) and when Philips screws everyone out of their transports. It's fun info :)
It just sounded a bit hokey to have something go through the DAC and an ADC just to get it out of the machine... wanted to check, he HAD to get it from somewhere, I wanted to contradict it properly.
