Re: Fried Mods?

Not yet. I finally got the preliminary page up (imfaudio.com), but am negotiating with potential site designers. If you send me a fax number, I can fax you the cross-over schematics. The cabinet mods are fairly easy to explain.

1. Make the cabinets much more rigid by attaching angle iron (L-shaped, available at most home improvement warehouses) diagonally across the largest unbraced cabinet panels. attach it via 3/4" #6 wood screws (you'll need a 90 degree drill) spaced every two inches. Use of a hard-set epoxy glue along the entire length of the angle iron is also quite beneficial.

2. In the remaining areas create and attach some constrained layer damping panels. Michael Percy has some decent explanations, as well as flexible damping materials to use. As an alternate EAR Composites sells a heavy material to mass load the cabinets. I can't remember the material (isodamp?)
