RE: No, you're not getting the point at all

i think you may be having some misconceptions about both aural and visual short term memory. Back and forth quick switching solves that problem.

You don't get a lot of back and forth quick switching during audiophile auditions. Which is a poor choice given the nature of human aural memory.

But more to the point, testing in the world of film/digital video is much more straight forward and objective. And both the pros and the hobbyists understand the measurements and how they translate into image quality

I have done numerous lens comparsions myself and it is easy to do in side by side comparisons.Visual memory just isn't an issue in those comparisons. It's easy to see differences in contrast, color shift and edge definition. I can and have even blown up sections to compare those qualities.

The thing about audio is that it is quite easy under non bias controlled conditions to do comparisons, particularly ones that aren't quick switching and percieve enormous differences that aren't actually there. The effect has spiralled down a rabbit hole in which we have bizarre tweeks from the likes of Peter Belt that are absurd and based on ideas that are utterly make believe alternative physics. We have $10K power cables that are barely making a dent on a non issue for any decently designed and built component and $50K interconnects that make no audible difference or color the sound with passive EQ.

Vidoephiles don't seem to have much of this going on in their hobby.

I am waiting for you to name the actual scientists whose field of expertise is related to EE and or audio/psychoacoustics who would tell me my choice in cables was a poor one. That was your claim.
