Remember the days of "Wonder Solder"..... This was actually a popular tweak for a brief time..... Some manufacturers even offered this as an "upgrade" option in their products...... (And people often gushed over the sonic improvements..... I do think "placebo effect" was a major factor here.)

In fact, someone wrote a "spoof" white paper on an "audiophile soldering iron," which supposedly made "better sounding solder joints" due to the absence of "parasitic vibrations" and "electrical noise"..... I personally bit on this one..... (I inquired about ordering one of these soldering irons, and the response was basically an apology for getting the hopes up for us gullible audiophiles.)
