I am in basic agreement with you

I have observed noticable improvement only in speaker cables, and the
improvements were fairly subtle but real - at least to my ear. I cannot
hear differences between power cords. I replaced some Volex 17604s with
Audioquest NRG4s, and didn't notice a difference - except that the AQs are
a lot stiffer and harder to route. I use XLR cables between components,
and their design is appreciably different from single-ended ICs, so I
have no recent experience of SE ICs. I use coax between my cd transport
and dac - how much difference can there be between coax cables, unless
made of different metals??

Maybe golden-ear reviewers can hear differences from cable to cable, I
cannot. But then I'm 75 years old.

I think the only rational way to test cables is via double blind testing.
But that's a verboten subject around here.
