General audio topics that don't fit into specific categories.

you can say something that is wrong 100 times and it will still be wrong

It's called begging the question. Classic logical fallacy.

ABX is speicifically designed for the detection of audible differences.

And there have been many ABX tests where differences were detected! That's reality.

"If the differences between the test samples and placebo samples are "night and day," in a real DBT, this might come forth as the test group exhibiting a demonstrably greater degree of satisfaction, relative to the control (placebo) group..... But that in itself doesn't really "detect" anything..... Every listener, whether in the test group or the placebo group, is listening to just *one* thing..... So there isn't even a "reference" for detection in real DBT."

THERE IS NO PLACEBO in an ABX DBT nor an A/B DBT for preference! I feel like I am talking to Rainman at this point.

ABX is such a simple test. You have two items being compared. Item A and item B. Then you have X which is either A or B.You can listen to A and B and X all you want to fully evaluate what you are hearing. Then all you have to do is determine if X is A or B. If there is a difference you should be able to correctly identify X. If there isn't you are only able to guess which will give you results accordingly. If there is a night and day difference between A and B it should be easy as **** to identify X correctly. BASED ON RECOGNIZING THE DIFFERENCES.

"By the way, when most people show preference for a given audio product, whether it's a loudspeaker, amplifier, or cable, they're not "detecting differences""

So they are randomly forming preferences for items they percieve to be the same. Nothing absurd about that claim.
