No amount of stories of English sainthood (and I think I have heard every one!) will change the fact that Mr. Clapton's work as a bluesman (not pop artist) is of very little importance in the history of the blues. Back in the 60s a scathing Rolling Stone review pointed out that his style was lifted wholesale from black musicians. Clapton claimed he fainted after reading it. If you want the real stuff, go the real people.
