He's produced many more... disappointing... recordings than he has "great" or IMO even good recordings...

especially for a musician held in such high esteem by other musicians (and Clapton fans).

This can be now be said about most active musicians of his generation.

He made some great music a long time ago and can hold his own on guitar though
well past his prime. To deny yourself the brilliance of Layla (and other assorted love
songs) because Clapton can be a shithead seems silly.

As far as his opinions on anything they are as valid as anyone's, he just gets more attention
to his (as BS as they may be) because he's a... celebrity.

If you start confusing the artist with their art, there's a LOT less art around to enrich life.

BTW - if you're buying any used CDs or media of ANY artists, they don't see a penny
of that money, so you aren't supporting them financially in any way.

That thought can make enjoying the art much more palatable!
