I too expect at some point that a USB dac will allow me to have pcm on a hard drive and put away the originals. But right now I am at 60 cdrs using the RC. I seriously doubt that the RC is just the $229 unit. Indeed we now know that it does not have the drives in it that the RC does. Also since the cleaning regime has such great inpact on the results, it too has to be considered. As I have posted, Mr. Louis feels it is proprietary information and has offered to make copies for anyone with a lesser duplicator to compare. I guess it is going to be like cables and most other things, you may buy cheap and get equal performance but then again you may not. I have no regrets about buying it until I hear another cdr made on the less expensive system.
