Interesting but...

I really really really want a copy of this article. Are you sure you couldn't send it to me? It is a 30 year old article from a long defunct magazine. It is hard to know the validity when so few have ever seen the article let alone the magazine. Maybe "Bass Nut"...says a lot his moniker... would respect you more if he had it in his hands.

I for one have a no doubt that DBT will reveal differences but I have an issue with one that concludes in PREFERRENCES.

A difference is simply that, objective yes it sounds different or no it doesn't. Long term listening would be necessary to establish a true preferrence as that one thing that made the amp standout from the others could in the long term be the thing that makes the amp unlistenable. That extra bit of edge and detail make small things jump out could become very fatiguing over the course of a three hour listening session.

So while I applaud what seems to be a noble effort I feel that they partially undid their work by selecting what sounds "best" in what are essentially short term listening conditions. Different I am sure of but better from a DBT, I am skeptical.
