may be that they react differently to the complex (R-L-C) load the speaker/crossover network represents. At least that was an explanation given in Stereo Review ages ago. Perhaps an issue to consider and maybe an issue for further investigation.As for euphonic vs accurate, count the number of times terms like accurate, neutral or similar are used in reviews. I for one don't see them very often.
