Home General Asylum

General audio topics that don't fit into specific categories.

You sound like you are in group II, the suckers who have wasted their money and cat admit it even to themselves

"Such a thing is ridiculous at face value. Must something be *measured* to exist?"

In religion no, in science YES.

"The rather substantial population of listeners that have provided anecdotal evident of audible difference in interconnect cables suggest the phenomena warrants investigation."

To people looking for the truth, not advertising lies, anecdotal evidence may suggest an investigatioin but it does not substitute for the results of a fair and thourough one. This is not the Cable Asylum Board so we can discuss Double Blind tests. This is one area even the people who ban discussion of it on the CA board agree is the ONLY way to discern whether small differences in audio components exist. Of the hundreds of companies manufacturing after market audio cables to consumers and the thousands of models offered as superior, how many of them had been subjected to double blind tests and then the electical properties which explain any differences been explored and correlated? Absolutely none. And why not? Certainlhy not because of the cost but because they do not want to know the inevitable results. And those results at best are a few tenths of a db change to frequency response which can easily be offset with a filter or equalizer.
