Well you sound like a quite knowlegable fellow in this area and I know a little bit also so then I ask you to make an educated guess about what you think is happening with solid state devices. Would the vibration affect the Switching speed of the transistor? Change the juncntion potential a few milivolts? Since audio is about sound then if beating on a transistor doesn't make noise then whatever parameters that are affected by vibration emitting sound spontaneously isn't one of them. If you can show me that it slows transistors down, speeds them up, not shut off properly etc. then you have a point. What sort of performance problems with ICBMs were exhibited that made vibration so important to control? Or are we talking about extreme vibration (which I can imagine one a Mach 5 missle) that would just simply destroy the components by ripping them apart?
