The only thing I've even heard of is that some Japanese company maybe Nakamichi has an in house auditorium set up with with a grand piano and Van Schweikert claims to compare his speakers to live music but I have no details and I really can't confirm anything of value. It seems to me this industry is no longer about making accurate sounding audio equipment, its protests notwithstanding. It's all about money and profits and nothing else. I think most of them have realized a long time ago that the work of devising a convincing sound reproduction system is well beyond their capabilities and wouldn't be worth the effort in terms of payback even if it weren't. They can produce one hell of an image though. Think about it, hardly anyone even cares about real music anymore so what does it matter?
