That's not really how it works

That's the tradition "dumbed down" explanation, that acoustic waves arrive at the ear and are transmitted via neurons and electrical mechanical pathways to the brain. That's what we've been conditioned to believe. Let's call it the 1980s audiophile explanation. Hook, line and sinker.

We now know that explanation is far from complete. Our auditory sensory perception, our hearing, is greatly influenced by what's in the room, the objects, I'm not referring to acoustic waves in the room, but physical objects. As you remove things from the room the sound improves. The more things you remove the better the sound. What things you ask, things like CDs, phones, clocks, wood, metal, paper, unused audio equipment, LPs, videos, books. Check it out.
