It's inspired me to put on some of my old Cage, Varese, Berg, Schoenberg, Henze, Webern and Xenakis albums, none of which I've played in the past 30 years. Some of it was very good, and some - not so much; don't remember which.

Are you familiar with "An Introduction to Twentieth Century Music" by Peter Hansen? Pretty good book. (It's old, though.)
