I have a friend in Mesa, AZ who has an Eminence coaxial speaker system similar to my high-efficiency system.... But the compression tweeters in those speakers have a top end that is so resolving, nothing "spits" or "shouts", the music just comes out with its natural transients and harmonics.... (I hear things going on in the music that I don't hear in my own system, in spite of similar design.) These speakers are 100 dB efficient, and with low powered SET amplification (he rotates over 10 different amplifiers in that system), it's a system I can personally listen to for hours.... Regardless of genre, seating position, or volume level.
If another set of these tweeters could be found, I'd put them in my own speakers..... But these tweeters have no markings, and doing pictorial searches on the web, I have not seen another set. (These speakers were once Don Allen's personal pair, and when he was around, he didn't remember how or where he got the tweeters.)![]()
