RE: I remember when the Allied Radio catalog was the "wish book"

I still have a copy of the 1965 Radio Shack catalog. And I have a 1966 Lafayette catalog which was the direct competitor. If you haven't seen copies you'd be amazed. They had everything from most of the major audio manufacturers(there were way fewer back then) to their own audio gear plus all the parts, tubes, resistors, etc., etc. you can imagine. The books, needless to say were thick. And you could spend days looking through the latest catalog and dreaming.
