I agree, and after running Ref3A DeCapo I speakers for a decade, I would never again buy speakers less than 90db rating or speakers that provide low impedance load for a main system.
Having said that, highly efficient speakers that present a benign load and are not bright horns are typically a lot more expensive than less efficient speakers.
And this equation actually might be obsolete now that very efficient, high powered Class D amps are coming into their own, right?
