Humm ... yeah, well ...

Vinyl is, for all intents & purposes, incapable of producing as deep bass as digital.

Distortion is more relevant than flat response, (above vinyl's bass limitation), IMHO. However as for the relevance of harmonics above 22kHz, that is essentially nil since virtually nobody can hear them. (In my own case it's more like above 10kHz.)

Tubes certainly create more distortion than properly designed solid state. Vinyl does too relative to digital ...

But here's the thing: many audiophile simply prefer some of that distortion because (a) it sounds pleasant, and (b) because it can mask other distortion products of the equipment and the recording. I'm speaking of 2nd or 3rd order harmonics.

One may like that distortion but it isn't fidelity.
