Ditto earlier recommendations re: Grace or Infinity tonearms lo mass tonearms. I still use the Magnepan arm designed for very low effective mass.Would that I could find again a Grace F9E Ruby or Sonus Blue to go with it.
Find some classic Magnepan MGI or MGII speakers - a true steal at under $500 used.
But your main question was power.
Find a late 70's Luxman R1120 receiver. Huge clean power reserves for all but the most hungry speakers. Very nice sound for solid state -- indestructable build. Dead silent quiet FM section too. Truly no fuss - high quality electronics.
