Keep the large Advents, but get them on some short stands. They are very bass heavy if I remember right. My favorite phono cartridge then was the ADC XLM. Much better than the Shure in my humble opinion. You need more power. Get one of those suit case size receivers from the period putting out at least 100watts RMS.
