Inherited from my mother
Emerson console, with Garrard changer, and a separate stereo speaker that could be placed abt 6 ft away.
Next was an 8 track receiver and BIC crystal TT
Next was a Heathkit AR1500 receiver and Crazy Eddy House brand speakers, which blew tweeters every week- before being replaced with a pr of AR 5 speakers. Also a Dual 1229q / Empire 2000 E-111 combo. And a BIC T2m cassette deck. This system lasted from mid HS through college and into young adulthood.
When the Heathkit died I upgraded to an Adcom 535/ Hafler DH 101 combo and Mirage SM3 speakers. I replaced the 1229 with a Dual 721q and then made a huge leap to a Thorens TD318 TT
It was all uphill (or downhill....) from there.
