for Xmas '73 she got me an all-in-one system complete with 8-track, bsr tt, and receiver which had fake digital readout. The speakers were a single driver with a fake horn above it. It had slider controls for volume and tone. To me it was state of the art and I played the hell out of it. Meanwhile my older brother who had a decent job and about to enter college had a Pioneer receiver, Garrard tt, and huge speakers that rocked the house.
My mom now 82 came to visit me last Summer and when she saw my current stereo (which takes up half the room) simply shook her head as if to say what the heck? lol.
I've since forgotten the name of that stereo she bought me, I'd LOVE to get a hold of one just for nostalgia sake and have it set up in our guest room. I've search high and low on google with no luck. If anyone is familiar with the above description and remembers the name or knows of a website dedicated to all-in-one 70s system I'd be forever grateful ;).
