RE: relive your youth- what was your first "hifi" system?

I had a Sansui Eight receiver, Pioneer Cassette, and Rectilinear speakers.

I was inspired by my childhood friend's father, who was a Lockeed Rocket Propulsion Engineer. He had a 16" turntable with a massive wooden tonearm in a home built console. His amplifier had what I believe to be a 2A3 tube and was on a shelf high in his garage, driving a single coaxial speaker, also in is garage that was mounted to a horn about 10' in length, and played through the portion of his dining room wall that he had removed forming a horn mouth that was the full width, and upper half of his dining room.

My friends' older brother was smoking while removing the gas tank from his motorcycle, and that was the end of his dad's system.
