i was lucky to come up through the age of tas and stereophile. met a few of the designers and reps and was even mistaken for a product rep by one of the local ones of some clout.
met matt polk when he was driving the model 10s around in his car, joe grado at woodland stereo when his $500=1000 carts were just coming out. john ulrich of infinity and cary christie and briefly, arnie. others as well. it is fun living in LA.
