...after reading the first issue of TAC, I drove to Quatre factory in the San Fernando Valley and bought two Gain Cells which were on sale and found a Rappaport PRE-1 preamp.

From reading TAS, I picked up a Kenwood turntable, a Black Widow tonearm and an ADC XLM cartridge.

Then I bought two pair of Fulton interconnects and two pair of Polk Cobra speaker cables.

I had a dedicated music room which was a detached garage made of cinder blocks which had been turned into a family room in the house I had bought.

I didn't realize how good this all was until the following year when I moved north to the Bay Area into an apartment.
