RE: Lifespan of audio equipment...

I am currently using a pr of Pilot mono block. About 55-60 yrs old. Fresh caps only

I have just had a Fisher 400 receiver restored. c1964 and it sounds wonderful.

CJ PV5 Preamp bone stock, abt 25yrs old. NOS tubes. I am contemplating a PS rebuild of this one.

Linn LP12/ Ittok LVII combo. Abt 25yrs old. New belt and oil only.

Heathkit AR3a pr. Abt 38-40yrs old. New woofer surrounds and jumpers control pots.

I also have on hand various Fisher, Heath and Eico tube amps. Condition varies from completely stock to fully rebuilt.

To me the only real difference between old and new is degree of refinement.

Best, Ross
