"Can you give us an example of a recording that you think is digital done right?"

Pardon the confusion....... I'm referring to the playback devices, not the recordings........

There are not a lot of CD players and DACs that I think do it right....... The select few sources include the Wadia 9 DAC (the best I've heard, with the 7 transport), Prism DA-1 and DA-2 DACs, some 1990s Philips-based (Marantz/Magnavox/Philips) 5-disc changers with output stage and chassis modification, and one level down being a lot of the 20-bit 8x oversampling DACs of the 1990s including Theta, Threshold, and Sonic Frontiers, and some custom products like the Linn CD12, Altis, Audio Logic and Timbre Technology. Other products that I've recommended are another level down. Lavry DA10, Paradox-mod JVC 1050, and some DIY DAC products.
