Our hobby is dead...

...as we used to know it - long live our hobby.

It has changed - no longer are young people listening to 8 tracks and cassettes before moving into higher end audio reproduction.

They listen to iPods and iPhones now.

The music industry has changed - music labels aren't signing and promoting groups and no longer are records or even CDs the media of choice.

Computer downloads are.

Music servers are replacing CD players.

There is plenty of inexpensive entry level audio equipment available.

And the good news is the technology from the ultra expensive equipment trickles down to it so it's better tha ever.

The way to convert a young music lover to an audiophile is to sit him down in front of a high end system to hear how realistic home music reproduction can sound.
