Then we agree when John says, "I must agree with many here that Hi End Audio has grown too expensive for the vast majority of audio listeners.", there is no clear vision of what (grown too expensive?) or to whom he refers.
If I were to generalize, I'd say the high-end had never been affordable and such talk of affordable high-end emerged sometime after the introduction of the NAD 3020. Of course, some may defer to the Advent 300 but that's beside the point.
