Yes:
1.) Standardize on specifications and testing across the industry.
2.) Stop advertising dollars from influencing equipment reviews.
3.) Go on a mybusting campain to wipe out the BS snakeoil that is so prevalent in the industry.
Once you've established this, you'll find that the playing field has been levelled offering more variety to a greater population than the BS exclusivity that is going on with these boutique brands. If you want an example, look at the rebadged Oppo BluRay player from Lexicon which cost $4000 but in truth only costs $400 as an Oppo.
