If you haven't yet, visit the Exploratorium Museum, they have (had?) two large parabolic reflectors facing each other and spaced across a large room.
Each one has a ring at its focal point and as you can imagine, when speaking or listening at either ring the other can be clearly heard.
The fun part is standing exactly between both, where both can be heard, but stepping two steps to either side and nothing can be heard.
