No kidding. Dropped out of college after being a student pauper for too long a time. I needed an out, so I joined the military. Finally a paycheck and a relocation.
Several months later, I found myself in Colorado Springs with the Air Force. There was a little audio shop near the Colorado College campus. I bought a Dual 1229 tt, Shure V something cart, a mighty Sherwood 8900A FM receiver with a whopping 60 Watts per side, a pair of the larger Advent speakers (utility cabinets of course; I wasn't that rich).
Absolute bliss. Duplicated to a lesser degree many years later when I discovered B&W 802 speakers -- and that I could also afford those -- but barely. They replaced the Advents. I had a LOT of inquiries about selling the Ads. I should have studied that more carefully before selling.
