From about 1970 'til the late 70's I had an EICO Cortina 20 wpc solid-state receiver kit I built to go with the Dynaco A-25's and Garrard SL-92B I bought at the same time. I also had a Roberts 1740X R-R tape deck from 1967. The A-25's are still in use with a Dynaco FM-3, PAS-3X and early Dynaco ST-150 MOS-FET by Van Alstine.
I bought the speakers and changer from, I believe, Sound Associates in East Orange, NJ. In those days of the "Fair Trade" laws, gear (maybe just imports, I don't remember) couldn't be openly discounted. To get a quote from Sound Associates, I had to get a referral from an existing customer. They didn't have anything like a showroom. You had to know what you wanted.
