First of all, $2000 in 1965 has the same purchasing power as about $13000 today.
Second, you are confusing expensive products with excellent sound quality. That may be directionally true with speakers but the relationship of cost and performance with electrical components is a mix of reality and beliefs. With wires, it's almost 100% beliefs and no reality.
Also, Elizabeth, please don't use the "hell" word and the "F word" in your future posts because both tend to upset our born-again audiophiles, and suggest your personality has changed from "tender" at 16 to ...
"overcooked" in your 50's.
However you do deserve a Floyd R. Turbo award for your funny/true/over the top post.
