Bambi B, thanks for sharing your story. Even with the happy ending, it must have felt good to tell the tale.
I won't go into many details but I felt like I was in a Marx Brother's movie this week. There is a famous scene in "Day At The Races" where Groucho goes to place a bet. Chico claims to be selling Tootsie-Fruitsie ice cream but instead has a cart full of race betting guides. After being slicked into buying several of the books, Groucho says "I'm getting a fine tootsie fruitsing right here."
OK, so I have all my tax data together and am ready to load Turbotax and finish the chore. After watching my tax man enter everything into his program last year, I was determined to do it myself for '07. But then I happened to notice my Mac did not have the required OS to run Turbotax. Fine, I call my local Apple Store to make sure they have the needed OS, which they did, but I then found out my Mac didn't have sufficient memory to run the new OS. So I ask if they have the necessary memory — no, that must be ordered. That resulted in calling around to locate a store with the needed memory chip. I found one that promised they would have it the next day. Anyway, I ended up buying Turbotax, the Leopard OS, and a 1 GB chip, the total cost being higher than what the tax guy charges. I felt like I just had a fine tootsie fruitsing!
But now my computer should be good for another couple of years so hopefully it was not time and money wasted.
There, I feel better now too. 8^)
