It's amazing to me in the way women seem to know where things are. I remember as a tot my father always complained about finding things and because my mother always could find it immediately, he used to refer to "she put it in a safe place"- code words for his losing stuff.

I've read that women generally have a keener sense of spatial relations- and a spatial memory and that accounts for being able to find things.

I have a friend with whom I often go to concerts and joke with her about having the magic "parking karma" as when she's in the car we always find a parking space right by the entry. And when the parking is very expensive- can you imagine the LA County Museum has a lot that charges a flat rate of $20- we always find a nice street space within a block. This sounds trivial, but in Los Angeles good parking karma is of equal value to the Midas touch.

I'm in the middle ground of being able to find things, but moving so often has gradually increased the chaos and it takes me six months in a new place to really be able to find everything. In the meantime, what happens is that I find things I was looking for months ago- like yesterday's CDP and power cable!

I checked and all I can find about Cambridge Audio is that the design is done in the UK- main offices are London, with all the manufacturing done in China. Of course China is vast, but I couldn't find out the exact location.

You know, your daughter is onto something as a lock-back knife is perfect for carrying around to places without real flatware.
