Hi-end audio is WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY too difficult for the average person to bother with

hype,

a zillion speakers to choose from,

no such thing as right or wrong

a $30,000 amp is still not "right"

What hi-end audio needs is clearly definable benefits and advantages. Right now it's just a mire on confusion and can take a lifetime (if ever) to figure out.
I remember talking to one audiophile who spent years going through various systems. I then asked how his current system compared to his first hi-end system. He paused, thought of the advantages/ disadvantages of what he had now vs. then and seemed to think he really hadn't gotten anywhere. Hmmm, telling.
