Only Partially Agree with the Article......

I don't think the problem is specifically PCM.... For if it was, I wouldn't be having an even bigger problem with SACD playback.....

I will be getting a new Don Allen modified Magnavox CDC 748 changer next week. The '748 may have the smallest "RFI footprint" of any digital source that I've encountered (based on the interference heard via the AM section of Don's tuner, right above the source). All Don had to do was clean up the analog path. (Unlike his past mods, this one remains all solid-state.) If I hear on my travel system what I heard on his big system, this could be the first digital source that crosses the threshold of conveying the analog message. Stay tuned.
