RE: Clearest explanation yet, of the vanishing market for high-end. Read it and weep.

Tweeter became more focused on sales, sales, sales and not serving the hobbyist/music lover customer. Stores such as Natural Sound in Framingham and Nantucket Sound in Hyannis (both in Massachusetts) recognize that a customer drops in now and again to poke around and not always buy anything but eventually returns to establish a long term relationship. For many years in my impecunious days Natural Sound sold me el cheapo Grado cartriges with nary a try to upgrade or any distain for my choice. As a result I became a customer for 30 years and only moved to the other store I mentioned because I moved here to Cape Cod when I rretired. During those 30 years I made many major purchases, including a TT, two tape decks, earphones, a Linn tone arm, a Clearaudio cartridge, and six Maggies speakers. 'Nuff said?
