Cute.Growing up in late 50s / early 60's parents had a Fisher mono tube amp and tuner, a Garrard record changer, (on a shelf in a coat closet next to the living room), and loaded in the door of that closet was a 12 inch full range JBL speaker playing out to the living room. In the late 60's I remeber getting an "integrated" system from Panasonic -- for $79 if memory serves -- tt/cassette deck/tuner/amp/speakers. Little more than a toy, but it served its purpose until...
In 1973, college days, my first "real" system, including:
Pioneer 828 receiver (50 wps RMS!)
Panasonic TT w/Grace F8L cartridge (great cartridge)
Servo-Linear III speakers (at the time, really good speakers from Modesto, CA!)Was probably my downfall...
