Wow. Had to think about that one, and a little surprised at the results:Dynaco ST-120
Altec 800 Midrange/treble horns (as used in theater systems A7) in homemade cabinets.
Custom Folded horns with Altec 421H 15" drivers
Akai 7" open reel (don't remember model)(obvously a bit of a "Pro" leaning to this)
Current system:
Sony XA7ES CD player
Sony TA900 ES analog Preamp, substantially modified
custom electronics crossover
Pair of modifeid Deneon POA4400 monoblocks
Pair of heavily modified Denon POA6600 monoblocks (no original internal ciruitry left)
Custom speaker system, based on design of Wilson Audio X1, using Focal, Eton, Audax drivers.I'm not sure which is weirder; the first system, or the current one. The current one certainly sounds a lot better, whether it's small ensemble classical or large orchestra's, or jazz, pop, etc.
