I actually thought the picture on the picture on the largest tube TVs was "better" than the picture on larger projection TVs - but then again I thought the picture on the 42 inch projection was better than the picture on the 55 inch projection too. We bought the 42 inch projection. My ultimate conclusion - 42 inches wasn't big enough, a good quality 55 inch picture would have been much better.
