Well Estes (model rocketry fan?), my uneducated opinion would lean towards counseling you to score a tube pre-amp first. I have seen a few people running tube pre-amps to a Bryston power amp, for example. It seems to matter more on the pre side of the equation. I could be wrong (or so the girlfriend tells me), so don't take my word for it.yeah, the kits are smelling like the way to go, the more I read, the more economical it gets. I'm considering going nuts on high end wires for point to point connections, and good stuff like that.
