I started after high school, in a college radio station for awhile, then in USAF electronics and onward in other fields. My first system were bits and pieces, inluding a Fisher tube integrated amp, several odd tuners, speakers, tape decks, etc. The first all quality system was mostly Dynaco, built from kits in the 70's. Then upgrades up until my present Vandersteen 3a's, fed by Adcom amps and most recently by a Sony ce595 sacd changer through a Denon 3803 receiver - this so I can try sacd and digital surround sound(I played with analog surround over the years, eg Hafler effect). I hesitated to leave my Adcom preamp etc, but so far so very good. I now have about 3500 cd's and LP's and, in retirement, can actually listen to them!
