Thanks for the response. My father actually has the Golden Helix in his Rotel/Thiel S1.6 system, and I was impressed at the overall balance and detail in the system...not sure exactly what the Mapleshades actually contributed to the sound, but they certainly didn't seem to be a detriment to the system's sound. Wasn't sure if the Double or the Plus made a big difference, and it sounds like for a bookshelf speaker, the Plus might be worthwhile and the Double would be overkill. Btw- the system I will be driving will be a Rotel integrated amp and CD player driving a pair of Aurum Cantus Leisure speakers (the Chinese version of the Red Rose Music Rosebud, complete with ribbon tweeter). Hopefully it'll match well...
