My last girlfriend thought all audio is ugly and shouldn't be allowed out in plain sight, thank god I got rid of her (she hated golf too). I guess it really depends on what you think ugly or beautiful is. I happen to think tubes glowing in a dark room is very appealing. So to is the VPI Aries turntable. There a number of speakers I find attractive (maybe I am missing my old girl friend more than I realize). What I have found over the years is that if you are concerned with the WAF, you will never get good sound no matter how much money you spend or how unobtrusive the equipment is. This is because you have to be able to set the speakers out in the room, where all speakers, no matter how good they may look, will become obtrusive to non-audiophile mates.gjg
