Oh my God ! I had to check the poster, ggraff name here ,I would have thought this was one of my post. He said everything I wish I could have said verbatim.
Right down to my 12 yr old Toyota a SUPRA.Except here in FL. there are no basements.
Some inmates here forget why they got into audiophilia-the MUSICICAL
Experience,that is derived from a fine system. Audio Gear is a means to a destination(music)not a end all be all (having the Chic-est equipment).
When we have non- audio friends come to hear our stereo's.we want them
to be flabergasted at what realism is provided for them.
That might get them to be bitten by the Bug.
Not frighten them away from audio with atmospheric cost.Causing them a second mortgage.
Especially if we can give our guidence, so they don't make the same monitary mistakes we made along the way.
